FestungsBahn

The FestungsBahn funicular is in operation:

Mo-Su: 9.00 am – 8.30 pm: Last ascent up 8.30 pm, last descent down 9.00 pm (except during events)
Maintenance work on the Festungsbahn will take place from January 11, 2027, through February 12, 2027, and from November 8, 2027, through November 12, 2027.

January - März, November

9.00 am - 5.00 pm

The FestungsBahn will be out of service during the following periods due to the legally required overhaul:

The FestungsBahn will be closed during the overhaul from 12 January 2026 to 30 January 2026.

April, October, December

9.00 am - 8.30 pm

Christmas and New Year's Eve:

24 December: 09.00 am - 05.00 pm
31 December: 09.00 am - 05.00 pm (after that, rides up the fortress are only possible for restaurant and concert guests).

May, September

8.30 am - 8.30 pm

June, July, August

8.30 am - 9.30 pm
