Around the birthday of Emperor Franz Joseph I, we celebrate three wonderful imperial days on board the nostalgic steamer "RMS Kaiser Franz Josef I" and travel between St. Wolfgang and St. Wolfgang on the nostalgic star of the fleet.
Look forward to nostalgic flair, musical entertainment and, with a bit of luck, a visit from the emperor himself! The trips on the historic paddel steamer will only take place in good weather.
Ferries have been running on Lake Wolfgangsee since imperial times. In 1873, the paddle steamer "Kaiser Franz Josef I." was launched. This 33-meter-long ship with its powerful paddle-wheels was regarded as a major technological achievement in its day. Now as then, this photogenic vintage ship shuttles between the towns of St. Wolfgang and St. Gilgen, and is one of the fleet's main attractions.
